The Valley Announced as Joint Headline Sponsor for Battle of Evesham 2025

After the cancellation of the Evesham Artisan Christmas Fayre due to weather warnings associated with Storm Bert in November left a major funding gap, The Valley has stepped in as a Joint headline sponsor for this year’s Battle of Evesham.

The event, which commemorates the 1265 battle between Simon de Montfort and Prince Edward, will feature:

Live medieval battle re-enactments

Tournament of Arms and Horse

Falconry displays

Living history encampments

Craft and food markets

Children’s activities and storytelling

Live music and entertainment throughout the weekend

Mick Hurst, Director of the Battle of Evesham, said:

“The Valley’s support has been a lifeline. Without them, we simply couldn’t deliver the kind event that we wanted to and that our community expects and deserves.”

Phil Maclean, Retail Director at The Valley, added:

“When we heard about the funding shortfall following the cancelled Artisan Christmas Fayre we knew we had to step in. The Battle of Evesham is more than just a weekend event—it’s a celebration of our town’s rich heritage, a gathering that brings together families, schools, local businesses, and visitors from across the country and beyond.

We can’t wait to see the town buzzing with excitement, the sound of drums and swords clashing, and children wide-eyed at the sight of knights on horseback. It’s going to be a weekend to remember.”
