Students gain valuable work experience

The Valley was this week recognised for their work supporting local schools and colleges throughout the year providing student work experience programmes.

The Valley's Facility Manager, Paul James, who oversees the work placement strategy and manages all student placements, this week accepted a Stratford-upon-Avon college award for proactive education.

Samantha Fitzgerald – Director of Business Engagement and School Relations Proactive Education and Training Limited, said:

'We are very pleased to confirm that we had over 800 students go out on successful placements this spring. The students learnt so many valuable skills and gained so much experience while on their placements. Without your help and support, none of this would have been possible'.

Commenting on the placement, Laura Webster, from The Advance Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust specialising in special and alternative provision said:

'Thank you for the fantastic opportunity that you provided for Kieran.  Kieran really enjoyed exploring the world of work and has returned to school with much enthusiasm.

It is fair to say that sometimes his engagement in activities can dwindle and I am delighted that he accessed this placement well and can reflect on the benefits this experience has given him. Your team thoroughly supported Kieran and gave him the encouragement he required to sustain effective working'.
