Pavers own set to take on London Marathon

Pavers Shoes Assistant Manager, Julie Goodwin will attempt to run the London Marathon for the first time next month, a challenge she is fully aware could push her to the limit.

Julie is supporting the male cancer charity www.orchid-cancer.org.uk after a close family member battled with cancer this year. Julie, along with her brother Dave, have set themselves a huge £4,000 to raise by the time the marathon starts on the 23rd April.

She said: “I am nervous about taking part in the marathon, but it will be an incredible experience knowing I have helped a worthy charity that helps so many men battling cancer".

“I will be doing this for them, and this will be my motivation to cross the finish line.”

Along with putting in the hours of training, Julie has been working tirelessly with her fundraising efforts, which have included her treadmill challenge here at The Valley, organising a barn dance and an upcoming Skittles evening at Bensworth Social Club.
