Run Awarded Top Marks

Run For Wellness, which was founded by The Valley in Evesham has been named a finalist for the upcoming national shopping centre awards, The Sceptre Awards 2022.

The awards recognise best practices in the shopping centre industry, shining a spotlight on the people delivering real excellence. Run For Wellness, has been named a finalist for Community Initiative of the Year award.

The social impacts on disabled people during the pandemic were profound; disproportionally affected by the lack of access to basic services and opportunities to exercise, causing even greater ill health and social isolation. To address this social imbalance, The Valley created and launched 'Run for Wellness', a monthly, inclusive running, yoga and wellness community event.

Run For Wellness's primary function is to provide a supportive, non-competitive environment to help build confidence, core fitness and well-being for all, breaking down barriers and providing a lifeline to those who otherwise feel excluded from physical activity.

Emily Burton, Retail Commercial Manager at The Valley, said: “We believe we play an integral part in the communities we serve. We are a small team, but we are determined to make a positive impact, and to be named as a finalist for such a prestigious national award is a sweet reward for all our hard work. We might not be able to change the entire world, but at least we can change a small part of it, for someone.”

The Valley’s Marketing Team will attend the awards ceremony on 16th November in London to discover if they scoop the prize. For more information about the Sceptre Awards or to view the other finalists, visit www.sceptre-awards.co.uk
